The P.I.M.P rapper threw downwardly the gauntlet when he made it very articulate that he did not think his quondam nemesis was worthy of his competition in Timbaland and Swizz Beatz's Verzuz Instagram Live Battle series.

Explaining his reasoning, 50 Cent told Big Male child on Big Boy's Neighborhood: 'It would brand more sense catalogue-wise, me and Snoop.

'Cause we could compete every footstep of the way. Ja Rule? He got like 5, six good duets…'

Ja Rule speedily responded on Instagram, writing: 'He don't desire that pressure level… ?" and Snoop [out] ya league bra!!!??'

So as the pair's feud has gained our attention over again, let's take a wait back at the history of this very brilliant but nuanced rivalry.

How did it begin?

Both rappers take given different reasons to how their feud began, but 50 Cent detailed the fallout in his 2005 autobiography From Pieces to Weight.

According to him, their feud dates back to 1999 when Ja Rule saw 50 Cent with a human who had robbed him of his jewellery.

50 Cent, real proper noun Curtis Jackson, wrote: 'Ja saw me in a lodge with the kid who robbed him. I went over to say, "What's up" to Ja, and he acted like he had a problem with me. Simply I'm not the one who robbed him.'

Ja Rule, real name Jeffrey Atkins, admitted the robbery did occur but claimed he never saw Curtis with the robber and insisted the rift began when 50 was snubbed by the Murder Inc's (a in one case-booming record characterization founded by Chris and Irv Gotti) entourage during a music video shoot for Ja'south vocal Murda four Life.

1999-2005

We all know from his Instagram that Curtis is not 1 to dorsum down, so it was no surprise when he released diss track Life's On The Line aimed at Ja and Murder Inc, leaving fans gasping for air.

In 2000, the two were booked at the same nightclub to perform and they concluded up brawling. No biggie.

A few months later Ja Rule heard that Fiddy was recording music at the Hit Mill studios in New York City and took his crew to pay him a little visit.

50 Cent was stabbed and both Ja Rule and Murder Inc rapper Black Child were arrested. Not your average feud after all, right?

Irv Gotti claimed in 2002 that the Get Rich Or Die Tryin' star signed an lodge of protection against Irv and Ja Dominion, merely it was actually issued for 50 Cent by the NYPD.

And would you expect at that, he responded in the most Fiddy manner possible, releasing I Smell P***y , which called out Irv, Ja Rule, Black Kid and Cadillac Tah.

His debut album had the track Back Down, which questioned the street cred of both Ja Dominion and Murder Inc. Yikes. And then came Ja's diss runway Loose Modify which attacked hip hop group G-Unit and used some homophobic slurs that would have had the world in a frenzy if released today.

But wait there's more. 50 Cent, Eminem and Busta Rhymes attacked back with Hail Mary, mocking Ja' Dominion'south obsession with Tupac Shakur.

2006-2015

In May 2011, it was confirmed that both Ja Rule and 50 Cent had chosen fourth dimension on their feud.

The year 2013 was a big footstep for both rappers, with Ja Rule admitting 50 Cent won the feud during an interview with Hot 97.

The same yr, the two New York stars randomly ended up on the same aisle on the same flight but at that place was no atmospherics betwixt the two.

Can you imagine?

Ja Rule later on released his memoir in the July of that year, and one department claimed it was the 21 Questions rapper's info that led to a federal investigation into Murder Inc – an accusation that fifty Cent denied.

2016 – nowadays day

2017 was a great yr for 50 Cent, who took reward by making jokes about Ja Rule when the Ever On Time rapper got caught up in the Fyre Festival chaos.

Yeah, it's hard to forget about the disaster when a fancy festival tried to get away with feeding festival-goers a slice of cheese with salad.

In 2022 – after l mocked him nonetheless again – Ja Rule wrote a series of tweets saying l owes him his life, and that he 'owned his soul' equally 'you're my b***h!.'

The pettiest revenge yet was when fifty Cent bought 200 front row tickets to Ja Rule's concert in Las Vegas and so that information technology would be empty.

Information technology was an absolute baller motility and nosotros accept to say, fair play, but still – harsh.

On the brilliant side, Ja Rule was tickled and tweeted: 'I become under @50cent skin… I love it.'

So, given recent events, it seems we are far from seeing the stop of Ja Rule'due south and 50 Cent's 21-year-long feud. So settle in and grab your popcorn, folks: information technology's going to be a long one.
